Terms of Service
Last updated:
1. What these terms cover
These Terms govern your use of roly (the “Service”) — the Discord bot and the web dashboard at roly.space (the “Site”) operated by roly (the “Operator”, “we”, “us”). Discord itself is operated by Discord Inc. and is governed by Discord's own Terms.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required by your jurisdiction and Discord's Terms) to use roly. By using the Service you represent that you meet this requirement and that you have the authority to invite roly into any Discord server you add it to.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use roly to target, harass, defame, or discriminate against any individual or group.
- Use roly in any way that violates Discord's Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, or Developer Policy.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, exploit, or scrape the Service beyond the documented interfaces.
- Interfere with rate limits, scan-frequency limits, or other operational safeguards.
- Resell, sublicense, or white-label roly without written permission.
4. What roly does (and doesn't do)
- roly reads role-based permission metadata and produces an advisory report.
- roly does not modify roles, channels, or members unless an explicit, scoped action you initiated requires it.
- roly's report is informational and is not a security audit, penetration test, or formal compliance attestation.
- You remain solely responsible for decisions made about your server's permissions.
5. Accounts and access
When you link a dashboard account on roly.space, you agree to provide accurate information and to keep your Discord credentials secure. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access.
6. Service availability
roly is provided on an “as available” basis. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service with or without notice. We'll do our best to give reasonable notice before materially breaking changes and to back up stored reports.
7. Intellectual property
roly, the roly logo, and related brand assets are owned by the Operator. You retain ownership of any content you submit to the dashboard (server names, custom rule definitions). You grant us a limited license to use that content only to operate the Service.
8. Termination
You can stop using roly at any time by removing the bot from your server and requesting account deletion. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms, abuse of the API, or lawful instructions from Discord.
9. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the reports will identify every risk in every server.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the greater of USD $100 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing in this section limits any non-waivable consumer rights you may have under the law of your country of residence.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll post the effective date at the top. Material changes will be announced in the roly support server at least 14 days before they take effect.
